Position Overview
Join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team focused on delivering innovative solutions for water and wastewater infrastructure. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Coordinator with a background in civil or municipal engineering technology to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of infrastructure projects for municipal clients. This role involves managing subconsultants, preparing technical documentation, and ensuring project milestones are met on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will support and/or lead municipal advisory projects, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to high-quality deliverables for municipal infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership
- Contribute to complex projects or key tasks from initial concept through to completion.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Client Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and expectations.
- Provide regular updates and reports to clients, ensuring transparency and satisfaction.
- Address client concerns and provide solutions to ensure project success.
- Technical Delivery
- Support condition assessments, including coordination amongst internal team members and external contractors/consultants
- Prepare technical documentation and support project deliverables
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure project deliverables meet the highest standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any issues.
- Ensure all projects comply with safety regulations and environmental standards
What You’ll Be Doing
- Coordinate and support the delivery of a range of municipal infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, water, wastewater, stormwater)
- Liaise with subconsultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines
- Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and tender documents
- Track project progress, budgets, and schedules; assist in preparing status updates for clients and internal stakeholders
- Support the preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
- Attend site meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items
- Ensure compliance with municipal standards, regulations, and client expectations
- Assist with permit applications and approvals from regulatory agencies
- Maintain organized project documentation and records
- Support site investigations, condition assessments, and performance testing of systems
- Assist with project coordination tasks, including proposal development and internal team communication
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- ECA/CLI compliance and approvals support
- Prepare roadmaps for integration between development engineering and capital engineering processes for various municipalities
- Supporting the development of asset management policies, strategies, plans and processes
- Involvement with facility assessments including water and wastewater treatment plants, municipal pumping stations, elevated and buried drinking water reservoirs, etc.
- Spark innovative approaches to design, construction, and policy development
- Developing and preparing a variety of written documents, including technical reports, work plans, business cases, Standard Operating Procedures, and terms of reference
- Complete tasks accurately and efficiently with minimum supervision
- Performing other related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (or related field)
Experience: 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in water/wastewater infrastructure design.
Certifications: Certified Engineering Technology (C.E.T.) or eligible is preferred.
Skills:
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, and relevant design codes.
- Experience preparing technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience working with municipalities or public sector clients.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D is an asset.
- Ability to think creatively and solve complex problems.
